Constellations: Poems of the Night Watch

I have an exciting announcement to make: next year I will be making my illustrated book debut with Constellations: Poems of the Night Watch!

Now, there are plenty of poetry collections, but few of them feature full-page paintings.
There are plenty of illustrated books on the constellations, but few of them feature poetry.
There are plenty of fully illustrated books of verse, but few of them are for adults.

And until now, there has never been a fully illustrated collection of original poetry, about the night sky, for adults, created by a mother-daughter team working on opposite sides of the planet! While sailing around the world in her 35′ sailboat, writer Arliss Ryan spent her many long hours at sea watching the stars. Her original interpretations on ancient myths range from dark to whimsical, in both rhymed and blank verse. Throughout her six-year voyage, she sent me the poems and her ideas, and I created art to bring her words to life. We worked over email and through Zoom, often with shoddy and unreliable internet connections in remote marinas. Now that we’re reunited in the U.S., we’re excited to begin the final phase of this project!

When we’ve finished the art and settled on a publisher, we will announce the book on our respective websites. If you’d like to be alerted when the book is ready to buy, please follow me on Instagram or enter your email below. I promise you will only receive one or two emails about the book in 2024 and I will never, ever sell your information to a third party.
